‘Tis the Season for Holiday Spirit! Catch the spirit in and around Wrightsville Beach this month with holiday events and great shopping for everyone on your list.
Wrightsville Beach Holiday Events
5K Jingle Bell Run – Join the Wrightsville Beach Museum in their annual Jingle Bell Run around “The Loop” with a short run up North Channel Drive and back to make it a full 5K. Bring two items of non-perishable food to benefit the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Saturday, December 18 at 9am
Enchanted Airlie – Just off the Island on Airlie Road, bring the whole family out to Enchanted Airlie, a festive lighted holiday event. The gardens are decked out in light displays that will amaze everyone in your family. Plus, this year they are featuring an outdoor train set made entirely of LEGOs (that actually runs!). Visit with Santa and enjoy live musical entertainment. This is a must-do for your list every year.
Winter Wonderland at Mayfaire – Mayfaire is not only a great shopping destination for the holidays (or any day), but they also set up Santa’s Village for the holiday season. Visit with Santa, enjoy holiday music, characters, carolers, snow fairies and snow wands. You can even take a ride on the Polar Express Family Train. As an added bonus, Mayfaire does a Winter Wonderland Snowfall that blows three times a day for an hour each.

Mayfaire Town Center – OK, we have to mention Mayfaire again. With plenty of parking and all the big catalog and department stores you could want (plus it’s very close to Wrightsville Beach) Mayfaire is a fun, festive, and convenient place to shop. As a gift idea, you can even give Mayfaire gift cards that are good at almost every Mayfaire store and restaurant.
Lumina Station – This is a beautifully landscaped and designed shopping center just minutes from the Wrighstville Beach drawbridge. With local, boutique shops, you’ll definitely find something for everyone on your list.
The Forum – Another Wrightsville Beach staple, The Forum is wonderful for boutique shopping and delicious dining.
Surf Shops – Wrightsville Beach itself has some excellent, high end surf shops for the surfer or beach-goer on your list. Check out Surf City Surf Shop or Sweetwater Surf Shop on the island.
Hallelu Boutique – Located in Wrightsville Beach, this is a place to shop when you want to go local! Hallelu is a super-chic boutique for women’s apparel – ideal for the fashionista on your list.
Redix – This is the place to go on the island to get anything for the beach! It may be winter, but our beach season is never far away here in Wrightsville Beach. Put something under the tree to remind us all about the warmer weather we can look forward to!
