Ribbet the Exhibit-Encore! Airlie Gardens – Thursday, May 5th 9 am until 5 pm – Just in case you missed last year’s whimsical garden display, here’s your chance! Make plans to see these charming copper frog sculptures from the very talented artist, Andy Cobb. From a leaping ballerina to a serene yogi, these fantastical frogs delight kids of all ages. The natural beauty of Airlie Gardens is the perfect backdrop for this installation, which was one of the most well-attended exhibits Airlie has seen. Plastic Ocean Project Cleanup and Vegan Potluck – Saturday, May 7th at 6 pm – Johnnie Mercer’s Pier – Be a good citizen and meet some great people in the process! Please bring your own containers for trash pickup and gloves are always a good idea too. After the cleanup, gather round for a seaside vegan potluck picnic! Summer Stock Auditions for Kids – Saturday May 7th, 12 noon – Get your aspiring thespians to the Fran Russ Studio, located at the WB Parks and Recreation complex-1 Bob Sawyer Drive. This summer’s shows include: Legally Blonde Jr. (June 24-25) and Freckle Face Strawberry (July15-16). The Legally Blonde production seeks actors in the 11 to 18 age range and 7 to 14-year olds are encouraged to audition for Freckle Face Strawberry. Climate Change, Sea Level Rise and Resilient Design – Thursday May 12th, 6 pm – (admission $35) Bluewater Grill – Presented by the N.C. Pier to Pier Swim – Saturday, May 21st-9 am – Crystal Pier – Grab your goggles and show your skills for this awesome event, which is now in its 3rd year. The swim is a distance of 1.7 miles and the course is form the south end at Crystal Pier to the north, finishing at Johnnie Mercer’s pier.
