Have you ever wondered which bird species inhabit our North Carolina beaches and which ones are just passing through? Perhaps you’d like to understand the difference between a heron and a crane or an ibis and an oystercatcher? If finding out more about the feathered creatures that call the Cape Fear Coast home, join Audubon NC naturalists on Friday mornings at Wrightsville Beach from 9 until 10 am.
From now through September 13th, you’ll have the chance to see native seabirds in action and learn about their survival skills, diets, foraging techniques, migration patterns, nesting and mating habits. The tour is absolutely free and gathers each Friday morning at 9 am at Access # 43 at the south end of WB along Lumina Avenue.
Participants are reminded to wear sunscreen, comfortable clothing and bring a camera. For more information or to inquire about a group tour, please call the Cape Fear Audubon Society at 910.686.7527.
Happy Birding!
