Easter Weekend on Wrightsville Beach

Sunset For anyone planning to spend the long Easter Weekend at Wrightsville Beach, you probably already know that it’s one of our favorite weekends of the year. The weather is usually warm enough to let you hit the beach and maybe even take a dip in the water. Here are some more ideas for great activities during the long Easter weekend on Wrightsville Beach:

  • Sunrise Service at Oceanic Pier on Wrightsville Beach – The North Pointe Community Church will be celebrating their 11th Annual Easter Celebration at the Beach on Sunday, April 24th at 7am.  Following the service, there is also an Easter egg hunt for the kids at 9am.  For more information, please visit http://www.npointe.org/events/sunrise-service-at-wrightsville-beach-oceanic-pier-easter-sunday/.
  • Easter Brunch – Wrightsville Beach has tons of great restaurants and many will offer specials menus for Easter brunch.  Some of the popular waterfront restaurants to check out are the Oceanic, Blue Water Grill, and The Bridge Tender as well as some of the resorts on the island including the Blockade Runner and Holiday Inn Sunspree.
  • Wrightsville Beach Boat Tour – Contact one of the local marinas to find out about renting a boat for the morning, afternoon, or full day. You can take a guided scenic cruise with Wrightsville Beach Scenic Tours, do a fishing boat charter, or take a boat out to tour the island on your own depending on your interests or what you want to do.
  • Family Bike Ride – Start out on “The Loop” at the Wrighstville Beach Parks & Rec Dept and then head over the drawbridge and jump on the Eastwood Road bike path that’s part of the Wilmington Cross-City Trail.
  • Kayak, Canoe or Stand-Up Paddle Board – Explore the Intracoastal and the Channels by kayak, canoe, or on the latest and greatest SUP (Stand-Up Paddle Boarding).  Rentals are available from Hook Line and Paddle or Wrightsville Kayak Company.

Let us know what your plans are for Easter Weekend. We know there are plenty more things to do on the island and throughout Wilmington over spring break and the long weekend – we’re just getting you started!

Enjoy!
