Wrightsville Beach may be a small coastal community, but did you know it’s located right along the edge of a bird superhighway?
The Eastern Atlantic flyway is one of five major avian migration paths in North America, and the Wrightsville Beach area is a popular stopover for frequent feathered fliers. Throughout September and October, area residents and visitors will have the opportunity to see some of these migrating species in a natural environment.
Thanks to Wrightsville Beach Scenic Tours and The Cape Fear Birder, Joseph Abbate, bird lovers will get the chance to explore the Intracoastal Waterway and other nearby coastal environments while searching for Caspian Terns, Red-breasted Mergansers, Common Loons and more.
